James A. Teeter, III (Jim)

Financial Consultant

Jim Teeter, is the President of Apex Investment Advisors which opened in  Columbia, SC on November of  2003. Jim has been a Financial Consultant and Investment Advisor Representative in the financial services industry since 1986.

Mr. Teeter uses his expertise to identify his clients’ short and long-term goals and provide innovative and tax-efficient financial solutions. He is committed to developing custom investment plans that help his clients achieve both their overall objectives and financial security needs.

Mr. Teeter graduated in 1977 from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He also earned his Masters of Business Administration degree in 1984 from the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Teeter was an Accountant for nine years prior to entering the brokerage business.  He joined Dean Witter in 1986 as a Financial Advisor and trained in the World Trade Center.  Mr. Teeter went to Prudential Securities in 1991 and was a Quantum Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Management Consultant. He also achieved the designation of Retirement Planning Advisor.

Outside of business, Mr. Teeter has a strong focus on community and family. Mr. Teeter is an Eagle Scout and supports the Indian waters Council.  He is a member of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Cayce-West Columbia Rotary. Jim is a Rotary Past President, Paul Harris Fellow and 10 star Rotarian.  He resides in Lexington, SC and has two sons Jonathan and Matthew. Mr. Teeter attends Mt Hebron Methodist Church in West Columbia and St. Peters Lutheran in Lexington, SC.
